Ok let's see - we have an image hosted on a profile that is 1 day old and asks you to visit a website with a strange url with a promise of a financial reward on an another website. How do you even imagine that would work? And now, of course, people start crying that their computers got infected with malware. Which is great - every genius who fell for this obvious phishing scam deserved it. I hope your shitty computer burns and you along with it.
I know this is a no-duh for 90% of people reading it but for the sake of the rest lets revise what we all should know about online phishig. And before you go all:

Opinions are a Dangerous thing: Art StylesThis isn't about narking on anyone no, infact this is just my own muses really! You could say this is a journal for ENCOURAGEMENT! *SHINES*
I find sticking to one style restrictive if you are a beginning/moderate artist! (even professionals I might say! though I can't speak for everyone)
Having a distinctive look on how your art is done and produced is understandable and its a desire to appear unique to the point some one can just SEE your work and instantly think 'Oh! that's Ten-days!' or something along the line. However, when you are trying to find who you are and what kind of art you are to produce, I recommend trying, well, a lot of different things! Different styles, mixing styles, different colouring techinque, brushes, tools, shading. Don't feel dependant on what you are already doing and don't feel pressured by people just for trying new things!
Push out of your comfort zone. Can't draw hands? don't avoid it! draw the heck out of them! (how else are you going to learn?)

Long story short!
Sharing artwork without linking to the source = not very good
Refusing to link to the source when the artist personally asks and being all 'clever' while at it = very bad
Request: If you like an artwork enough to share it with others, express your thank you
by linking to the source, and don't be a rude smart-ass to someone whose material you're using

I felt I should write this after my "wonderful" experience with a certain FB group/page. I naively hope they (after
refusing to give credit) at-least listened to my last request to take down the images and did not just change it's
sharing options :I

Just because the artwork was originally uploaded on a public site it doesn't mean that it is free to use around

I don't mind people sharing my art, in fact, I'm very happy about it, but please... Give credit to where it belongs!
And to those who do - a big thank you, I really appreciate it!

hi there, why not use this to your advantage? You can promote your art this way. Internet is after all, is the easiest promotion tool. According to what i read yesterday, when illegal distribution happens, you should only give half of your merchandise. Save the other half and give it out only when people agree to your terms. I am saying you should either minimize the images or cut half of the image next time so people don't go taking your work as they please. I just babbled on.. but sorry if you already know this. (coming from an amateur business student)

Ugh. Have come across too many occasions like this in the past. Wasn't a long time ago when I had this very same conversation with someone. Though, in some way it was my fault for not putting a watermark on it (then there's of course those people who've got some knowledge of photoshop and try to be clever and remove it).
I'm finding it difficult to believe why people still hold the misconception for copyrights. Do they not teach this in schools anymore? Or manners at that.

We shouldn't feel guilty for not placing water marks. Personally I don't
like them because it covers the picture so much it ruins the view for those
who simply want to look at it. Even without such an obvious "do not steal"
sign as watermarks are, artworks should still be respected and known that it is
someone's property even tho it's on a public site. If it continues I'll have to
start watermarking tho...

Sadly, it's a common misconception that as long as you find it on the internet, it
is free to use. :/

P.S. I always loved your artworks ^^ Wasn't aware of your DA account before, time to +watch!

It's a shame things like this still occur, Luei. Commiserations, I've seen art I've commissioned be used by others without reference also, stating they commissioned it themselves. Even stuff I've written for Tal'enthiel appearing on private server character sheets! They at least took it down, I hope these people have the decency to do the same.

This aside, I hope you're having a good new year!
